Lucky me! America’s Nutrition sent me a couple more blender bottles (how nice is that?), so I decided to do something fun this time.

(I love my Blender Bottle so much I can’t wait to give some more away on behalf of America’s Nutrition. Good luck!)

You have to watch the video to figure out how to win one. Winner(s) picked at random. One winner will be picked from the comments here and one winner from the comments on my Facebook wall.

Good morning! Today I decided to do a short video update. Please keep in mind I just woke up and do not usually look like I just got run over by a Mac truck – I hope you’ll take the time to watch. :)

Even though I have had a week from hell, I’m still on track. Although my husband really paid the price yesterday for buying one of those funnel cakes at the carnival. He was puking and sick all day yesterday. I had always heard really good things about funnel cakes – you know, like they were “so good.” I had a taste and I was not impressed. That thing tasted like a big grease ball of shit! So, take it away from me (and my husband) and STAY AWAY from the funnel cakes.

The winner of last week’s America’s Nutrition Give Away is:

Cathy from 42 is a Magic Number

In keeping with the subject matter of my video post, is there something that you USED to enjoy doing but have forgotten about? Something that makes you TRULY happy that does not involve food or unhealthy choices?

Cheap food, exploding portion sizes, bigger dinner plates

I caught a really interesting segment on last night’s NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams:

As food has grown cheaper and portion sizes have exploded, the size of our dinner plates have grown to accommodate our ever-expanding appetites.

Please take the time to watch this, it’s very interesting. (Here’s the direct link if you have trouble viewing the video below.)

Watching the guy with the dinner plates just perplexes me. When did the plate manufacturers decide to enlarge our plates? How did we get from where we were in the 1960′s to where we are now, over 70% of our country overweight?

Read a post I did awhile back on Obesity Trends from the 1960′s on.

We did have many fast food places take off around the 1960′s and after. Microwaves became the rage.

Could it simply be that we live in a microwave society and that has fueled our fat and obesity in this country? Thoughts?

Ever meet anyone that regretted moving their ass? Me neither.

I’ve been suffering from a bad head cold the last few days and haven’t exercised much. After a nice phone conversation about exercise and more with a friend, I decided I needed to get off my ass. I wasn’t willing to infect gym-goers with whatever I have, so I decided to workout at home.

And in doing so, I videoed my workout.

BUT WAIT! I know what you’re thinking… boring.

Maybe not so much this time.

This video shows hardly any exercise. Pretty much just the before, in between sweat and the aftermath. Just wanted to do something different and fun for you. Well, there was an annoying neighbor who refused to shut off his stupid ass chain saw every time I talked into the camera. Which kind of molded the video.

Hope you’re getting your sweat on too – sick or not.

(And to the friend with the great exercise advice and wonderful ear… Thanks for motivating me tonight.)
