Good morning! Today I decided to do a short video update. Please keep in mind I just woke up and do not usually look like I just got run over by a Mac truck – I hope you’ll take the time to watch. :)
Even though I have had a week from hell, I’m still on track. Although my husband really paid the price yesterday for buying one of those funnel cakes at the carnival. He was puking and sick all day yesterday. I had always heard really good things about funnel cakes – you know, like they were “so good.” I had a taste and I was not impressed. That thing tasted like a big grease ball of shit! So, take it away from me (and my husband) and STAY AWAY from the funnel cakes.

In keeping with the subject matter of my video post, is there something that you USED to enjoy doing but have forgotten about? Something that makes you TRULY happy that does not involve food or unhealthy choices?

O.K.- two recommendations.
1. Stay away from funnel cakes. I used to love them… then I had a similar experience to your husband’s and I just can’t do it anymore.
2. Read THE HELP by Catherine Stockett. Great book about the South.
Thanks as usual!!

Yes – this wife and mother also sooo appreciates when the rest of the house is still asleep:) My favorite time of the day.
Good for you – reading and enjoying it and having that release. I used to love to be taken away by a great book but now am struggling since reading makes me want to snack. Sigh. Maybe I need to drag out a jigsaw puzzle – I used to enjoy them and busy hands are not snacking hands.
P.S. I agree that The Help is a great read.

I count myself very fortunate that funnel cakes just don’t appeal to me. Even the smell of them cooking nauseates me. One thing in my favor. :)
It’s really odd, but when I was larger, food didn’t make me happy or unhappy. It was just food. Now, it’s still just food, but I’ve learned to appreciate it and celebrate it more. I’ve always been a little backwards. :)

I hate to say but I like funnel cakes.. in small amounts though…. too much & ya get sick! As your hubby found out. I have not had one or a taste of one in a couple years at least. Last time was when I visited the crazy kids one summer & they split one & I had to have a couple bites & they were worth it to me! I work out hard so I deserve to enjoy the things I want to taste! :-)
As for something I used to enjoy.. hmmmmmm. Why am I having a hard time with this? I did used to read a lot BUT it was not like I loved it.. but I did enjoy some books….. maybe getting away which is not possible right now due to $$ tightness….

LOL! You and I definitely won’t be fighting over the funnel cake, unless it’s to sledge-a-matic it!!

I used to LOVE funnel cakes. (Of course, I also used to love street vendor hot dogs, oreo McFlurries and Pizza Hut’s meat lovers deep dish pizza – none of which I could even imagine eating now!)
It’s amazing how your body – and taste buds – can change and adapt when you change what you eat.

I really do like funnel cakes and zeppolies.. nothing like fried dough and powdered sugar… but then again.. donuts are good too….
Yummmmm
But, if you don’t eat any crap in a while, I would expect serious fallout in the toilet department. SERIOUS!
Cheers,
Missa

Though I have had my eating issues, I have never had a funnel cake — they just look like they would make me sick.

Glad you made it through a stressful week — because, and I know you know this, there will be more ;-)

Funnel cakes are gross but so many things I used to eat regularly are gross to me now. I look at that crap as poison now.
There is nothing better than getting lost in a good book. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is next on my reading list. I can’t wait to start the series.

Hi. Found you while hopping around. Great site and keep up the great work. I have a weakness for funnel cakes but I can’t say I eat more than one every year or even two. I also treasure every peaceful moment while my son sleeps.
I have a heart rate monitor giveaway starting tomorrow. You look like you have everything you need, but if not check it out!
