You look at the video and see things you despise about your body, and I look at the video and see things I would love to have one day. Smaller arms, no boobs resting on my stomach, etc. Best part of a workout? The end feeling of accomplishment. And sweat. I like to see sweat :) Emily´s last blog ..Weigh In 71210
I can’t watch the video (bad card), but for me, the most important factor of a good workout is focus. Why am I there and what am I trying to accomplish? I try to clear everything else out of the way. Cammy@TippyToeDiet´s last blog ..The Happy Baker
Emmie, you inspire me. And thank you for putting things into perspective. I have come a very long way, but I should be pleased with where I am. Please continue doing what you do!!!!
What do you HAVE to have for your workout to be a success?… three things:
one, just do it. A successful workout starts by just doing something.
two, soreness but not pain. I should feel the workout happening and when done I should feel that workout for a few more hours or more.
three, a better tomorrow. If I exerted myself during a workout I get paid back the next day with energy through out the day. Patrick´s last blog ..Day 86 – Da Numbering
Ha ha! I have to laugh at that. I used think sweating was NOT sexy and a bit of a turn off. Let’s just say I fully believe that guys in general like sweaty girls. At least my husband does! LOL
My answer to the riddle: When you feel like smiling uncontrollably after a workout, you know you’ve reached the peak of that mountain.

You know, its funny. Sometimes I take it for granted that I even got out of the bed. But, I think back a couple of years and I would not even be doing that…. so up and at ‘em is a win.
But past that… I think it is sweat. I know that sometimes in the past I have worked out and was not all that successful– and I didn’t sweat that much. Now it is pouring off me when I work out. Recently I have been doing a water running class- I can’t figure out how much I would be sweating if I was not in the pool…. so, I am not sure how much exercise I am getting. Weird huh?
I like how you say you just ‘shut your brain’ off…cuz that’s it for me…I just need to zone out mentally and let my mind wander on its own somewhere into oblivion…having awesome tunes going usually can help me pull that off!
Well hello Fitness Warrior herself! You look great on camera – and nothing beats that smile of your’s at the end. I’ve always thought its incredibly brave of you to post your workouts in video form, it was you who initially inspired me to post my progress photos on my blog and be reasonably confident about it. Some days that is definitely easier than others, but we are transforming slowly but surely and feeling good with who we are in the meantime is definitely a great strategy.
As for me, there isn’t much I need for a good workout than sheer motivation and determination. The rest is really just add ons… Meegan´s last blog ..The Cookie Experiment
Meegan, Thanks so much for the kind words!!! It has been hard putting my videos out there but I do it for a few reasons.
#1 – To help myself. My goodness can you imagine how hard it is to edit these things sometimes? what I mean is, you look completely different on camera than what your mind’s eye wants you to believe. It’s a wake up call that refuses to let you slip into fat denial!
#2 – To help others realize they can do this if I am. Seriously.
You inspire me. I have been on and off again exercising along with healthier eating for nearly a year now and am down 56 pounds but have so much more I want to get off – and I know that my lack of consistency is the reason it’s not ALL of now. Your honesty, consistency – they really inspire me and remind me to get back going on my goal to looking like Wonder Woman – not just feeling like her.
For me, it’s all about the sweat…which is not so hard to come by these days in GA. But when the sweat is rolling, I know that I have done something good (and stinky)…and that brings forth a huge sense of accomplishment for me…But a lot of times, just getting to the point to work out is what is most successful. I have always said that we can always come up with an excuse not to do something…so the fact that you are there doing it…that’s accomplishment even before the sweat begins to roll! I usually set some goal in my mind for a workout, then modify it if I need to, but not too often. Finishing what I set for myself satisfies me and I feel good about it.

I think this is a cool way to do a post – enjoyed it.
I think the thing that I have to have for it to be a solid workout — is follow through.
I can have none of the rest, but as long as I stick to the plan and folllow through with it — nature will do the rest.
