I’ll be getting ripped in 90 days – seriously

I was watching QVC a few weeks ago and that personal trainer to the stars, Tony Horton, was on. He was promoting his P90X workout program.

Let’s just say the man has some abs – and I’d LOVE to touch them.
There’s nothing like a man with washboard abs. Hawt!

I’m familiar with the program as I’ve *almost* ordered it several times after watching his infomercials. One time, I actually got to the point where I was talking to a sales rep on the phone and got disconnected. No kidding. I took that as a sign that maybe I wasn’t ready for P90X at that point in my life, so I didn’t call back.

I’m glad that I didn’t order it then, because I don’t think I was ready. This was before I started working out nearly every day at the gym and with my personal trainer, when my bags of shit were very prominent and I was a big mass of fat and laziness. I’m pretty sure I would have never made it through even one of the DVD’s.

So when I seen P90X on QVC recently, I instantly decided to order the program. Maybe it was the easy pay plan they offered, maybe it’s because Tony Horton is really hot and got a rockin bod, or maybe it was because I’m ready to go to the next level. I have no freaking idea, but I ordered it.

About a week later, my P90X box arrived, delivered by the United States Postal Service. I excitedly tore it open, rummaging through the contents. Resistance bands – check. Nutrition plan – check. Fitness guide – check. DVD’s – NO check. Where the hell are my 12 DVD’s?!

See that lovely, empty square area in the middle?
That’s where the DVD’s should have been.

I couldn’t believe it, they forgot to put the damn DVD’s in the box, I thought. I immediately called QVC and they told me it could take 7-10 days to get a response. Basically, I would either (1) receive the DVD’s separately in 7-10 days or (2) I would receive an email saying I wouldn’t receive the DVD’s in 7-10 days.

I was at the mercy of QVC, and it was a little infuriating. The DVD’s were the reason why I bought the system in the FIRST PLACE. I could understand their position though, they probably had no idea if I was jerking their chain or not and just trying to get an extra copy (which I wasn’t). But how did they know?

After I got off of the phone with QVC, I inspected the outside of the box a little more closely. You’ll notice it has the P90X branding right on the outside, so anyone shipping or handling this box would know the P90X DVD’s are in there. Duh!

Look at the bottom of the box. It appeared it had been re-taped
several times. My bet was that someone handling the box (at USPS
or where ever) opened it, took the DVD’s, then re-taped it. Freaking jerk.

I patiently waited my seven days. Remember, I’m learning patience in this journey. Yesterday as I was sitting at the computer, John hollered, “UPS is here – with a package!” I knew it was my DVD’s. QVC got smart this time. They didn’t use USPS to deliver them – they used UPS – and they had them in an unmarked, insured package.

I’m pretty stoked. I decided I’m taking today off from exercise. It’s only like the second day I’ve missed since I started this back in November. Tomorrow I will begin P90X in conjunction with my training with Dean.

And tomorrow I will be taking my P90X before picture and measurements. Let’s see if this baby will turn out to be “as advertised”. I have a feeling it will!

Either I’ll kill P90X or it will kill me. But I’m looking forward to getting ripped in 90 days. That’s Tony Horton’s promise, after all.

Have you tried P90X or another DVD program recently? What are your thoughts?

So you are cheating on Dean with Tony? LOL!

I can’t believe someone would steal your DVDS. Actually, yes I can. Once, in college, I mailed my boyfriend 3 dozen cookies and when they arrived, there were only a dozen in the box. Someone opened it, ate 2 dozen cookies and then resealed it. It’s probably the same guy whole stole your dvd’s-he needs to work off the cookie calories!

Actually I don’t think I’m going to tell Dean. I don’t think he knows I ordered P90X.

I know he reads here occasionally but I don’t know how often. :)

I’m gonna hit it hard and try my best with it and see if he notices a difference in my workouts with him. If he mentions it I’ll let him know about me and Tony. It’ll be tough for him at first to take, but I think he’ll be okay with it. lol

I totally understand this stealing crap! Where I buy a couple supplement things, the store owner told me even thru UPS, there is one brand of product that gets stolen all the time by the UPS people! Craziness!

So glad you got this cause I want to know how you like it! I have always wanted to do it but can’t afford it so… I will hear what you think & can’t wait!

PS: Thx again for the email & thx to your workout partner & son!

Gah, that must have been *so frustrating* when you got the box without the DVDs in it!! I’m glad things have been set right. I’ve heard good things about this system, but it always sounded so intimidating. Looking forward to hearing your reports on it!

Yeah it was like Christmas and thinking the box had that toy that you really, really wanted then opening it and finding pajamas or something. lol

Can’t believe somebody robbed you of 90 days of fitness. I guess P90X is a pretty hot commodity now days. Your going to love it. Expect to be pretty sore the first week or 2 but you have to stick with it.

Yea I can’t believe that either. I wish I could recommend to the manufacturer to NOT put the P90X name on the box it ships in. That’s an open invite for those thieves out there!

I’ll stick with it, I have no doubt about it. I remember the first few weeks working out with my trainer were tough and things were very sore, but I did it. I expect this to be just as tough if not worse, but I can’t wait to see what will show after 90 days! :)

Wow, that is crazy! I can’t believe people do things like that! Well, just to let you know, I’ve tried NUMEROUS products over the last few years and I’ve only had success with P90X! I’m on Day 23, and my body is literally transforming before my eyes! It is tough, but completely worth it! The results are incredible, and you won’t be sorry, DO NOT GIVE UP! It will get easier and easier each time, I promise. Are you a Beachbody Coach by chance? I don’t see anywhere here showing that you are. That is a hard program! But if anyone can do it – you will do it! I’m glad QVC came through – I’ve always had a pretty good shopping experience with them.

I love QVC – they really stand behind their stuff! Great they fixed things…

I have watched the PX90 infomercial so many times I think they should pay me! :)

Many of my firefighting buddies (the guys) have been getting together to do the program on their shifts. I hear them moan and groan about it. Many did not complete it and those that did, WHOA!, Hot Tamales!!!

Dammit – I wanna be a Hot Tamale! :)

Please Please update as you go along….

Once I get a little more off and get on a regular routine, I may just try it myself…..

I’ve heard nothing but good things about the program – if you finish it. I intend to do my best with it and I don’t like to start things and not finish them. So I’m really looking forward to this! :)

Thanks for letting me know about the hot tamales in the Fire Dept. Conjuring up images in my head that I probably shouldn’t be… lol

I’m afraid to try it. I have the upper body strength of a gna. Kudos to you!

Yeah, it’s on hold for a few months. My trainer Dean gave me an ultimatum (see most recent post). But it’s okay, I’ll probably hit it his summer an then I will be able to put all I have into it. :)
